BIMINI, Bahamas, Aug. 26, 2011 – Located just 48 nautical miles off the coast of South Florida in the Out Islands of the Bahamas, the four-star luxury vacation resort Bimini Bay Resort & Marina remains open for business as usual following Hurricane Irene.
Bill Lee, Resort General Manager said, “After extensive preparation efforts and good fortune from Mother Nature, Bimini Bay Resort & Marina withstood strong winds and rain and there was no damage to the resort. Clean-up has been minimal and all resort attractions, restaurants, beaches and the marina are open. We are welcoming our homeowners and guests back to the island of Bimini post-Hurricane Irene. I think they’ll be pleased to discover the island just as they left it.”South Bimini Airport has re-opened, and WesternAir, Continental, IBC and Regional Air have reported that their operations will resume shortly. Guests are encouraged to confirm their flights directly with their airline as schedules may vary.
“We are tremendously thankful that the island of Bimini and Bimini Bay Resort & Marina did not feel the full force of Hurricane Irene,” said Lee.
Hurricanes stay away for our Bimini!! Now that’s an order!
