Bimini Bay Resort & Marina is quickly emerging as South Florida’s “offshore playground.” To help support this growth, IBC Travel, in partnership with Bimini Bay, will launch an expanded schedule on August 15, including daily, non-stop flights from the region’s two major airports to South Bimini International Airport. By offering afternoon departures, IBC Travel will effectively open travel from major cities throughout the Northeast, Midwest and Canada.
The 30-minute flights will depart from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Miami International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Sunday flights will leave from both airports. Roundtrip flights on the 30-seat, state-of-the-art Saab 340B plane are $289 per person; one-way flights are $169 per person. Children under two years old fly for $100 roundtrip or $50 one-way.
Bimini Bay Resort & Marina, with its partnership with the Bahamas Tourism Office, is sweetening the deal by offering an instant saving of $400 for stays of six nights or longer and $250 for four- and five-night stays. (One credit per room. Reservations must be made by Aug. 31 for travel between Aug. 15 and Dec. 21, 2011. No blackout dates.) In addition, Bimini Bay Resort & Marina is celebrating the new air service with 25% room discounts off its standard rates. (Some rules and restrictions apply.)
With the largest marina in the Bahamas, Bimini Bay Resort & Marina is a long-established hub for yachting and sport fishing enthusiasts. Now, the private, tropical getaway is attracting South Florida residents and visitors with a robust events schedule and an array of family-friendly amenities.
“For years, Bimini Bay Resort & Marina was one of the Bahamas’ best kept secrets,” said Bill Lee, general manager. “Through our new partnership with IBC, more South Florida residents and visitors will be able to discover this piece of paradise, just 30 minutes away.”
Lee noted that IBC’s new Monday — Saturday flights will depart South Florida at 2:30 p.m. and leave Bimini at 3:30 p.m., providing excellent connectivity for travel to and from the Northeast, Midwest and Canada. “The flights offer an inviting, tropical retreat to vacationers looking to escape the cold weather this winter,” he said.
Bimini Bay Resort offers one- to four-bedroom suites and villas and features three restaurants, including its signature Sabor, Fisherman’s Village open-air shopping center, full concierge services, “Beach Bums” children’s activity center, two outdoor pools, fitness center, massage services, Wi-Fi throughout entire resort and marina, meeting facilities, business center, tennis center, grocery store, and access to other activities, including world-class fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling with dolphins and sharks and boat tours and excursions.
